This is the best female artist on the SA music scene in many years! Reana really rocks! She has an amazing voice, great production and musicality, and while most SA debut albums are typically raw at the edges and the artist still has a lot of development ahead, she has an astounding maturity wonderfully demonstrated on the last track "Jesus be my centre".
The tracks are mostly rock and the help of friend Louis Britzz does come through at times but in a good way.
Overall the album is very listenable, with great musical style and much promise of a great future for this young artist.
It's noteworthy that both Reana and Tree63 are "christian" artists, but they lead the SA music scene in terms of quality, the latter even more overseas than locally. It shows that christian musos are growing up into leaders, not wannabe's anymore, and that is indeed an exciting trend.
I'm looking forward Reana's next release, which is out of stock currently (could it be due to unexpectedly high demand?)
