"Eight weeks, eight values, one national conversation" was the rallying cry of television series, Heartlines.

A series of seven one-hour drama films and one 96 minute feature film were flighted on SABC2 from July 16 2006. The Heartlines campaign was aimed at stirring up debate around crucial human values in the South African context, and has received significant exposure.

Music was an integral part of the Heartlines television dramas and the feature film, due to a partnership formed between the Heartlines' team and a consortium of three leading South African musician/producers - Zwai Bala, JB Arthur and Sibusiso Victor Masondo. This trio of gifted individuals gathered together some of the country's top recording artists to participate in the creation of this CD.

HEARTLINES features music specifically composed or licensed for the films, by artists such as SIBONGILE KHUMALO, FRESHLYGROUND, JABU HLONGWANE, DEBORAH, NONHLANHLA, GLORIA BOSMAN, THE BALA FAMILY, LOYISO and LIONEL PETERSEN.

A highlight of the album is the 'Heartlines' anthem, for which a music video has been created. Titled "I Believe In Love" it features a number of leading artists who appear on the album.
