Jeff Buckley died young on the brink of a an undoubtedly successful career. I heard about him through a friend, and was amazed. This is truly one of the greatest male voices ever recorded - his cover of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah' is devastating. Happily skipping from genre to genre, style to style, one gets the sense that the world was robbed of true greatness too soon. Haunting - the unearthly quality of his voice and some of the lyrics almost suggest that he foresaw his death. This is a sublime experience.
