Latest celery seed findings give arthritis relief the green light
As world interest in herbal products continues to mount, heartwarming news has been received in South Africa for sufferers of rheumatism, arthritis, lumbago and gout.
Acceptable alternative medicine
Indian Celery Seed and Celery Seed Extract have been extensively analysed in the last five to ten years for its constituents to a far greater degree than the majority of other herbal products, as it has long been considered an acceptable alternative traditional remedy for certain conditions and thus attracted more scientific and medical attention than some other herbal preparations.
98% success rate
Findings include the results of recent studies on Indian Celery Seed Extract carried out in Australia at the University of Queensland. 98% of the volunteers (aged from 33 to 80 years) who had been diagnosed as having arthritis and rheumatic pain for approximately ten years, reported that after taking Indian Celery Extract for six weeks, relief had been obtained from arthritic and rheumatic pain to various degrees. Some even reported the complete absence of pain and discomfort. Research workers tested various extracts, but found that the Indian Celery Seed gave the best results. Noticeable improvement
Early tests carried out in South Africa using Indian Celery Seed reflect equally positive results. Mrs. G. Robertson of Brackenhurst, Johannesburg, found that after takign Indian Celery Seed Extract for about three weeks, the soreness and sensitivity in her finger joints had disappeared and that there was also a noticeable improvement in the larger joints. "Several weeks ago I ran out of the tablets only to find the sensitivity in the joints had returned. On taking them again the discomfort disappeared, proving to me that regular use relieves the aches of my arthritis.
Relief virtually instantaneous
Concerned about his wife's continuing agony as a result of worsening arthritic pains in her left leg, Mr. Anton Van Hengel of Durban heard about Indian Celery Seed Extract and decided to see if it would help her condition. "The relief was virtually instantaneous" says Mr. Van Hengel. "After a period of about one week all pain had disappeared. She continued for some six months and now even though not taking them for the last three months, has remained free of pain."
Swelling goes
"When I began taking Indian Celery Seed Extract my right wrist was so swollen it looked sprained," say Mrs. Gaile Schroder of Durban. "From my fingers to my wrist, my ankles and almost every other joint in my body was affected by arthritis. I now only have minor discomfort in my wrist - the swelling has gone." Mrs Schroder's successful results inspired six other fellow sufferers to follow her lead with gratifying improvements. "One of these ladies now reports that - 'it's a pleasure to wake up and get up in the mornings.'" Mrs Y. Sansom writes, "The tablets have been of great help in relieving my two elderly dogs of their aches and pains. Since putting them on the tablets it is noticeable how much easier they rise from their blankets in the morning. A close friend of mine has also obtained similarly gratifying results with her dogs."
Assessed as safe
In Australia, Canada and New Zealand where all herbal extracts and products available to the public are evaluated by State Health Authorities, Celery Seed Extract has been assessed as safe and is listed among the approved herbal products available in each of these countries. This assessment is based on their low oral toxicity. It should, however, be realised that natural herbal food supplements for special dietary use should not be used excessively by pregnant women and people with kidney disorders. The efficacy of Indian Celery Seed Extract for the temporary symptomatic relief of pain associated with arthritis, lumbago, fibrositis, gout and rheumatism has now been assessed and approved at international levels for general use as therapeutic products.
Anti-inflammatory
Research indicates that Indian Celery Seed has marked anti-inflammatory properties which reduce the swelling around the affected joints. The diuretic effects of the Celery Seed also help to bring about a natural removal of uric acid which can ease swelling and pain in the joints of gout sufferers. Celery Seed Extract is also believed to be helpful in promoting digestion and a healthy digestive function, as well as relieving mild fluid retention.
