Popular best-selling fiction writer David Norton (Timothy Hutton) is invited to attend a conference in Majorca – little knowing that he has been lured into a trap. After his fiancée meets an unexplained death by falling from a high balcony, others who accompanied him on the flight to the island also become victims of strange happenings. For example: Sylvia Mendez (Lucia Jiminez) last remembers taking a shower…before waking up in hospital, having apparently thrown herself from the high window of her hotel. Only a canvas awning prevented her otherwise certain death.

David unwillingly finds himself a featured player in the kind of situations he has often created in his own writings…only this time he is not in control of things, and has no idea of how it will all end. Meanwhile, he has to try and stay alive as his life becomes more and more of a nightmare.
