Four tales of crime adapted from Frank Miller's popular comics, focusing around a muscular brute who's looking for the person responsible for the death of his beloved Goldie, a man fed up with Sin City's corrupt law enforcement who takes the law into his own hands after a horrible mistake, a cop who risks his life to protect a girl from a deformed pedophile, and a hitman looking to make a little cash. Welcome to Sin City. This town beckons to the tough, the corrupt, the brokenhearted. Some call it dark. Hard-boiled. Then there are those who call it home. Crooked cops. Sexy dames. Desperate vigilantes. Some are seeking revenge. Others lust after redemption. And then there are those hoping for a little of both. A universe of unlikely and reluctant heroes still trying to do the right thing in a city that refuses to care. Three stories - shocking, suspenseful and searing - come to the fore in a new motion picture from co-directors Frank Miller (comics idol and author of the Sin City comics) and Robert Rodriguez - with special guest director Quentin Tarantino!

If you own nothing else, own this.Reviewed by Unknown from JHB, South Africa on 03 April 2006 178 of 340 people found the following review helpful: Sin City is a film event - it will definitely not appeal to all. A complex story and plenty gratuitous violence that you have to see the humour in or prepare to be seriously disturbed. Mickey Rourke rocks in this film. Was this review helpful?
Immediate Cult MovieReviewed by Unknown on 20 February 2006 192 of 369 people found the following review helpful: Cutting edge technical cinema at its best! Mickey Rourke steals the show - stands alone as an incredible movie! Was this review helpful?
Unique, brave, amazing filmReviewed by Shirley B from Cape Town on 10 April 2006 165 of 332 people found the following review helpful: As a female - I wondered if I was going to enjoy this film, but it's a masterpiece. One of a kind and very special. Keep an open mind when you see this one (some patrons walked out of the cinema when I saw it), and it's definitley not for kids! If you love comics, sfx, thrillers, and all things alternative, you'll love this one. And Jessica Alba sizzles! Was this review helpful?
