I suspect this movie will appeal more to the kid in the adult
than the kid in the kid. It's wonderfully imaginative, and it
fufills most kids' fantasy: do anything you want, and never get
hurt. Jimmy (in fact all the kids) flies through space in an
open cockpit, and nothing happens. They even camp outside
overnight on an asteroid--with a fire, even. And he's got a
great robo-dog that has more implements on him than the most
complex Swiss Army knife you can think of. I doubt I'll ever
eat chicken again, though.

I started watching this movie with the kids and thought it was just going to be another animated cartoon with the usual kids gags. Boy, was I wrong - this movie is funny from the start! Jimmy's parents are hysterical and at odds with each other at all times. The mechanical dog is adorable - my boys want to know where they can buy one! He has a great 'play dead' trick and like a real dog, will do anything for his owner. This is a watch again movie and a complete break from the usual Disney offerings.
