Truly Epic Filming taking wildlife documentary to Reviewed by Mr Brendon Versfeld from Cape Town, South Africa on 09 October 2008 46 of 95 people found the following review helpful: A true masterpiece of film making. If you enjoy documentary-type film-making, then you will not reject a cent spent on this set. Episodes are well put-together, and offer enough information to surprise and entertainment, but not enough to bore.
Every episode is arranged as a +- 45 min piece on the area, followed by a 10 min piece on the most challenging thing about filming that episode. Episodes cover the following areas:
- From Pole to Pole
- Mountains
- Fresh Water
- Caves
- Deserts
- Ice Worlds
- Great Plains
- Jungles
- Shallow Seas
- Seasonal Forests
- Ocean Deep
An especially special one is the ocean episode, with a full great white shark breach captured in ultra slow-motion.
If you are even considering this DVD set, it should already be in your basket. You will not regret it. Was this review helpful?
A masterpiece Reviewed by Unknown from Cape Town on 22 January 2007 703 of 1469 people found the following review helpful: One of the most beautiful documentaries I have ever seen (and I've seen many). Absolutely stunning photography, wonderful commentary (by none other than David Attenborough) and interesting "making of" featurettes after each episode. Many scenes will tug at the heartstrings, some will make widen your eyes and some will even make you laugh. The sheer scale of the documentary is astounding - and it belongs in your collection!
