Swati is the language spoken in Swaziland. According to the 2001 census, Swati is also the mother tongue of approximately 1.2 million South Africans. Most of them live in Mpumalanga. The first translation of the Bible in Swati was completed in 1996 by the Bible Society of South Africa. This is a thought for thought translation and the same translation is used in both Swaziland and South Africa.
