An electrifying debut novel of a young woman's love for a vampire. When 17 year old Isabella Swan moves to Forks, Washington to live with her father she expects that her new life will be as dull as the town. But in spite of her awkward manner and low expectations, she finds that her new classmates are drawn to this pale, dark-haired new girl in town. But not, it seems, the Cullen family. These five adopted brothers and sisters obviously prefer their own company and will make no exception for Bella. Bella is convinced that Edward Cullen in particular hates her, but she feels a strange attraction to him, although his hostility makes her feel almost physically ill. He seems determined to push her away ? until, that is, he saves her life from an out of control car. Bella will soon discover that there is a very good reason for Edward's coldness. He, and his family, are vampires ? and he knows how dangerous it is for others to get too close. 'The sexiest vampire tale for years arrived in Stephenie Meyer's TWILIGHT, about teenage Bella's chaste romance with a beautiful vampire boy. Their intensely erotic feelings are endangered by more predatory types. Guaranteed to suck in sulky 13+ girls for hours.' THE TIMES Will keep readers madly flipping the pages of Meyer's tantalizing debut. Publishers Weekly

Things happen so differently to the movie and the book definately unfolds well. I was blown away and went and bought the whole saga and have not been disappointed! I recommend it to anyone! Truely amazing when you want to escape into a book and have trouble putting it down!! Was this review helpful?

Fantastic FantasyReviewed by Carolyn from Durban, South Africa on 26 May 2009 589 of 2117 people found the following review helpful: This is beautifully written and forms the great basis to a wonderfully intriguing and totally captivating story! In this first book you get to know the characters without unnecessary waffling. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys love stories & adventure with a twist. Was this review helpful?
Not very well writtenReviewed by Shel on 01 May 2009 679 of 2269 people found the following review helpful: I have read all 4 of the books in the Twilight arc and this, the first book, is pretty bad. It's very obviously written by a first-time author who is far too reliant on adjectives and pretty descriptions than on having an actual plot. Thankfully, the other 3 books are better. Unfortunately, if you want to read the whole lot, you should read this, if only for the (minimal) back story. Was this review helpful?
Twilight has found an everlasting place in my hearReviewed by Talitha from Strand, South Africa on 10 July 2009 463 of 1829 people found the following review helpful: I saw the movie and wanted to know how it would continue, so I decided to get the book. I'm not a romance reader by any means, but this book warmed me from the inside out. It's beautiful and heartwarming and it's captured my imagination and love of reading in a way no other book has been able to do. Just try it! Maybe you'll love it as much as I do.
