The SUNDAY TIMES and NEW YORK TIMES bestseller - well over ONE MILLION copies in print worldwide. Now in paperback. Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that takes over the minds of their human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed. Wanderer, the invading 'soul' who has been given Melanie's body, knew about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind. Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves - Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer yearns for a man she's never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off to search for the man they both love. 'Stephenie Meyer is an amazing phenomenon?out of the brightness of her mind and spirit comes the illuminated darkness of her stories. Orson Scott Card, author of The Ender Saga 'A fascinating, passionate, and unique psychological thriller. In The Host, Stephenie Meyer gives a new and surprising meaning to the phrase 'being of two minds! Katherine Neville, author of The Eight

Science Fiction, for those who don't like Science Reviewed by Unknown from Port Elizabeth, South Africa on 07 November 2009 1 of 2 people found the following review helpful: I am definitely a Stephenie Meyer fan, and love her way of writing. It took me a few chapters to get into the book as it is completely different from the Twilight Saga, but once I was into it, I couldn't put it down! Hoping for a sequel..
I would recommend it any day. Was this review helpful?
