Sam Walton, Made in America: My Story
Author: Sam Walton

In an account of his rise to the top of the American retail business, the reminiscences of the billionaire retailer are combined with interviews with Walton's family and friends. [A] wise and inspiring autobiography--Walton tells his quietly fantastic story with conviction and makes no bones about his mistakes. -- San Francisco Chronicle It's a story about entrepreneurship, and risk, and hard work, and knowing where you want to go and being willing to do what it takes to get there. And it's a story about believing in your idea even when maybe some other folks don't, and about sticking to your guns. -- Sam Walton Here is an extraordinary success story about a man whose empire was built not with smoke and mirrors, but with good old-fashioned elbow grease. -- Detroit Free Press A sure-fire all-American success story. -- The New York Times Book Review

Mr Walmart -Self made billionareReviewed by Mr Stephen Herbert from Cape Town, South Africa on 21 March 2005 92 of 176 people found the following review helpful: The story of the self made billionaire Mr. Walmart. This man was never on the front page of any newspaper, he is just a man who found what he liked doing ( Merchandising ) and kept on doing it right, right, right. He would open forty new stores in a year. The site for each one was well researched. He even got a private pilots license so that he could survey a small town from the air to find the locations for his new stores. Even when he was already very rich he kept a reasonable lifestyle and pumped it back into the business. This book makes a good read alongside some thing like a book about Bill Gate. There are many paths to become very rich and Sam Walton chose one.
